Surprise, Ariz. (October 16, 2019) — Christopher Todd Communities At Marley Park is 50% leased, less than two months after opening.  The luxury rental community comprised of 173 single-story smart homes – all one or two bedrooms with private backyards – is attracting both younger professionals as well as those over 50.  It’s a hybrid between a traditional single-family home and a luxury apartment community, combing the best aspects of both.

“We are very grateful for the wonderful reception our community has enjoyed in Marley Park. It’s a beautiful place to live and we so pleased our new way to live has been well received,” said Todd Wood, CEO of Christopher Todd Communities.

Tim and Kerry Eley are among a growing segment in the real estate business of those who can easily afford a home purchase but choose to rent. They recently sold their 2,300-square foot, two-story home in Surprise they bought after relocating from the east coast in 2003.  They considering building a new home but opted instead to rent – for the first time in their lives. “We feel like we’re living in a beach cottage and on vacation – except for the work part.  I often work from home and I hit the on-site gym during my lunch hour. We’ve met people at the pool and while walking our dog. No homeowner maintenance is a first for me!” said Tim Eley. And the included smart home technology, with high speed internet (1000/1000 mbps) is a big plus for them.

The Eley’s home is a two-bedroom, approximately 1,020 square feet, with all appliances included, along with a maintenance-free backyard.  The tall, 10-11 foot ceilings give volume and additional architectural interest to the home.

“The homes are thoughtfully designed and utilize space very well” noted Kerry Eley.  And, the included doggy door is a great benefit for their nine-year old dog, Zoe, who can come and go as she likes. The community location, within the master planned community of Marley Park, was a big attraction for the Eleys. Marley Park is designed to be reminiscent of historic neighborhoods, with tree-lined streets and walking paths to connect the community and the people.

These “Build To Rent” communities are beginning to pop up around the country, but Christopher Todd Communities was among the industry leaders to deliver this new way to live to the Phoenix area marketplace.  The company has four communities in the west valley, with a fifth opening in November near the State Farm Stadium where the NFL Cardinals play their home games.

Christopher Todd Communities At Marley Park is located at 15205 W Old Oak Lane, Surprise, Az 85379, near Bullard and Waddell Roads. The Home Leasing Center is open daily.  For more information:
