Christopher Todd Communities Opens Innovative Rental Community Near Westgate And State Farm Arena In West Valley

Phoenix/Glendale Ariz. (December 2, 2019) — Christopher Todd Communities has opened its fifth innovative luxury gated smart home community comprised of single-story homes, located across the Loop 101 freeway from Glendale’s State Farm Stadium where the NFL Arizona Cardinals play, Gila River Arena where the NHL Coyotes play, and Westgate Entertainment District. The first residents will start moving in December 10. This new niche in rental living combines the best of apartment living with the freedom of a one- or two-bedroom, single-family home with private backyard. It is located at 9999 W. Missouri Avenue, near the Loop 101 and Cardinals Way exit.

Cindy Drew, a retiree, is selling her Avondale home to live at Christopher Todd Communities At Stadium to be closer to her son and grandchildren, and give up home owner maintenance. “I feel like a little kid at Christmas time. I’m so excited to make this my new home,” she exclaimed. “My current home is too big for me to care for and I don’t want to burden my family or neighbors to help me so it’s time to move on. I love that the new community is gated which gives me a sense of security, plus no one above or below me is a big benefit over an apartment,” she noted. The private, maintenance-free backyard with included doggy door will be helpful for her two small doggies.

The 313-home community is the largest for Mesa-based developer Christopher Todd Communities. “We have been so honored with how our communities have been received in the Valley. There is a cultural shift underway in this country recognizing that many people are renters by choice and home ownership may not be the American Dream for all. The surge in rental offerings is supporting what many people want, especially Millennials and Baby Boomers,” said Christopher Todd Communities CEO Todd Wood.

Location is what appeals most to Destin Simmons who will be moving into the new Christopher Todd Communities At Stadium, along with a roommate. He found the community while searching online for rental living option.

“The location does play a big part in my decision because when looking for a new home I wanted something close to my work but also near some entertainment hot spots for the weekends spent out with family and friends. Stadium’s location is in the perfect spot that satisfies my needs. My favorite part about the community is that it is different from your standard stacked apartment. Christopher Todd Communities feels more welcoming and more like a home,” Simmons noted.

Each home has 10-11 foot ceilings and comes equipped with smart home technology, including high speed internet (1000/1000 mbps), keyless door entry, doorbell camera, and smart phone or tablet-controlled security and climate control. Add a voice automation like Alexa or Nest and life is even easier. DirecTV is also included. The climate control feature of the smart home technology allows residents to save up to 12% a year on the electric bill.

“The tech package did play into the decision because it helps minimize some of the stress having to get TV and internet set up after you move in and having to deal with internet providers. Plus, having the bill tied into the home also simplifies finances,” noted Destin.

The community features a resort-style pool with spa, fire pit, and outdoor TV’s, plus a state-of-the-art Fitness Center and Yoga Studio, and Event Lawn for social gatherings.

Christopher Todd Communities is an early trailblazer in this new type of rental community called Build To Rent. The single-family homes and lifestyle amenities are specifically designed for renters, and the communities are professionally managed.
